Sittin' pretty at the intersection of South Springfield and East Second Streets, the Green Forest Water Tower is quite the prize in this quaint Arkansas town. This bad boy's history stretches back to 1937, makin' it a bit of a vestige in Carroll County. It's more than a water tower, it's the lone survivor of PWA-funded towers in the county. Built by the Chicago Bridge and Iron Works Company, it's sportin' a shiny metal structure with four solid legs and cross bracing, and a peculiar, bowl-shaped water tank on top. From street level, it's a bit of a riddle as to where the water comes from, but that's just part of its allure. In 2007, it found a spot on the National Register of Historic Places, and today it stands as a reminder of Green Forest's rustic roots.
