The Nuraghe Arrubiu, one of the largest and most enigmatic Nuraghe structures in Sardinia, is located in the province of South Sardinia, within the village of Orroli. Its name, derived from the basalt stones used in its construction, means 'red nuraghe' in the Sardinian language. The complex structure spans an area of around 3,000 square metres and is composed of a main tower, protected by two secondary walls, making a total of 21 towers. The settlement dates back to the 15th century BC, and the main tower originally stood between 25 and 30 metres tall, making it one of the tallest structures in Bronze Age Europe. The Nuraghe Arrubiu also boasts a complex drainage system that provided water to a cistern.
