Stranded in Sardinia, you can hardly miss the highest point on the island: Punta La Marmora. Sitting at an elevation of 1,834 metres, it is the tallest summit in Sardinia. Named after Alberto Ferrero della Marmora, a prominent geographer, the peak is located within the communal territories of Desulo and Arzana. The mountain's striking appearance stands out from the neighboring mountains. Its summit offers a panoramic view of the entire Sardinia, where most of the coastline and surrounding peaks can be seen on a clear day. The mountain belongs to Barbagia, a mountainous region in interior Sardinia, and is located in Nuoro province.
