The derelict rail freight station in Salas de los Infantes, Spain, 1927-1985

Salas de los Infantes train station, a former freight hub in Spain, was constructed by the Compañía del Ferrocarril Santander-Mediterráneo in August 1927. Its warehouses, rotunda, and water tanks served over a dozen service tracks. The station operated until 1985, when traffic was closed. After nationalization of Spanish railways, it passed to RENFE but today, it stands idle, a relic of past rail freight activity. Despite its abandonment, the original structure still stands, a silent testimonial to the era it once buzzed with activity.
