Cesare Borgia, a high-profile prisoner, was confined in the Castle of La Mota, located near Segovia, Spain to reinforce his security. After being transferred from Castle of Chinchilla, he had attempted an escape but managed to escape from La Mota Castle with assistance on 3 December 1506. [1] This daring escape enabled him to reach Pamplona where he was welcomed by King John III of Navarre. [2]
