Located near the village of Sine Ngayene in Kaolack, Senegal, this megalithic site dates from the 3rd century BC to the 16th century. The site contains 52 cromlechs, each composed of carved laterite pillars measuring about 2 meters high and weighing 7 tons. Each cromlech contains about ten pillars and measures between 4 and 6 meters in diameter.
The complex includes a total of 1,102 standing stones. The cromlechs are built over burials, and burial tumuli also exist on the site. A laterite quarry is located about 1 kilometer to the east of the site.
In 2006, the site was inscribed on the heritage list as part of the megalithic circles of Senegambia. This grouping includes the stone circles of Wanar, Kerbatch, and Wassu in Senegal.
