The Church of Santa Engracia in Olmos de Peñafiel: Its Unique 16th-Century

The Church of Santa Engracia in Olmos de Peñafiel, Spain, boasts a unique architectural charm, distinguished not only for its religious importance, but also for its exceptional design. The current appearance of the church is the result of various reforms in the 18th and 19th centuries. The nave features three tracts, adorned with Baroque stuccoes. The choir, preserved in its Gothic style, is covered with a 16th-century cross-vault with tercelets, a unique feature in the country. The arch of triumph, in the form of a Gothic semicircle, grants access to the main altar, rebuilt in 1573 by Pedro de la Torre de Buegas. The Epistle side features a pointed arch, while the tower was constructed in 1813.
