The Château de Thibault de Termes

The Château de Thibault de Termes in Termes-d'Armagnac, France, is a remarkable medieval castle. Construction of the castle started at the end of the 13th century and start of the 14th century for Jean, Count of Armagnac, the father of Thibault d'Armagnac, its most famous inhabitant. Thibault d'Armagnac, who was present at the trial of Joan of Arc, gave evidence on her behalf at her trial. The castle was sold during the French Revolution and changed hands until it was purchased by the local commune in the 1960s. The keep, which is 36 meters tall and has six levels, was left abandoned and eventually bought by the commune. It was then restored and turned into a museum dedicated to Gascon life. The museum features exhibits on regional history and culture, including evidence from the trial of Joan of Arc.
