The medieval heart of the Veneto region: Conegliano Castle

Conegliano Castle is more than just a medieval fortress – it's a treasure trove of art, from valuable paintings to Roman artifacts.

Conegliano Castle, strategically situated on Colle di Giano, is the medieval heart of the Veneto region. Historical records indicate its establishment in the medieval period. Today, it houses the Civic Museum of Conegliano, a fusion of history and art. The ground floor showcases the Pinacoteca, showcasing valuable paintings like Giambattista Pittoni's 'S. Francesco di Paola', 1750, and works from artists such as Palma il Giovane and Pordenone. Roman artifacts and other historical artifacts can be found on the upper floors. The tower's top floor is dedicated to personalities linked to Conegliano. A 1/72 scale model of the castle by Ennio Tiveron is available for viewing inside. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding area, including the Venetian plain, a large part of the Friulian plain, the Morenican hills of Treviso, and the Prealps.
