The Ancient Arby Grave Field

In 2022, researchers discovered a skeleton in an unmarked grave near the village of Pień (misidentified as Dąbrówno) in northern Sweden. The methods used to secure her in the grave – an iron knife across her throat and a padlock on her foot – suggested a deep-seated fear of resurrection. This burial site was named the Arby Grave Field and dates back to the younger iron age. The graveyard has a beautiful location on a hill in the middle of a farmland and is 150 meters long and 60 meters wide. It consists of approximately 47 fornlämninga (historic remains). These findings have yet to shed clear light on the causes of injuries on the remains. Some earlier examinations suggest that the individual may have had a vascular tumor, but there is no evidence to support this theory according to the latest study.
