The abandoned church hidden in Houlgate's cemetery

Hidden in Houlgate's cemetery, this ancient Catholic church in ruins was rededicated to Saint Antoine. A church originally dedicated to Saint Aubin, it was later rededicated to Saint Antoine. A Saint Antoine fontain with a pilgrimage was located below the church. Works were done on the northern nave wall in the 15th century. The city of Houlgate developed in the mid-19th century, and a new neo-Gothic church was inaugurated in May 1878, with the tower completed 10 years later. The church is inscribed as a historic monument since April 27, 1948. Only portions of the porch with a Gothic arch and a gallery in pierre à compartiments flamboyants remain. The facade has two bell towers, each with a small French coat of arms. The church’s choir had a vault covered with plaster while the nave had wainscoting.
