Flatruetvägen, unnumbered but marked by Trafikverket as Z 531, traverses the heart of Härjedalen, a stretch of mountainous terrain. Measuring 975 meters above sea level, Flatruetvägen is the highest elevation of any general road in Sweden. Opened on July 31, 1938, the road connects several municipalities, allowing for a free view of the mountain world, particularly towards Helagsfjällen. The road is often closed at night and during unfavorable weather conditions.
