Smallest public monument of Stockholm: Iron Boy

Järnpojke, or Iron Boy, is both the smallest public monument of Stockholm and hard to find. Created by Liss Eriksson, this sculpture of a 15-cm boy was inaugurated in 1967 and is hidden behind the Finnish Church.

Järnpojke, or Iron Boy, is tiny. In Gamla stan (Old Town) of Stockholm, Sweden, this sculpture stands barely 15 centimetres (5.9 inches) high, making it the smallest public monument of the city. Created by Liss Eriksson in 1954, and inaugurated in 1967, this sculpture of a 15-cm boy is hidden behind the Finnish Church, which is only a few meters away from the Stockholm Palace. Yet its small size and secluded location make it easy to overlook.
