Skokloster Castle, a Swedish Baroque masterpiece built between 1654 and 1676 by Carl Gustaf Wrangler, stands as an incomplete testament to his ambitions. Despite the work being unfinished, it remains a remarkable one for its time. It was designed by architect Casper Vogell, with Jean de la Vallée and Nicodemus Tessin the Elder also contributing. The castle was built in the Baroque style, probably based on Ujazdów Castle in Warsaw, Poland. The death of Wrangler in 1676 halted the construction. Today, Skokloster Castle remains frozen in 1676, as a museum, and invites curiosity at every turn.
