Bianchini's Residence and Studio

The artist couple Arthur and Lisa Bianchini lived on Sandhamn year-round from 1904 to 1916.

Arthur was a landscape painter with a strong sense of color. He mostly drew his subjects from the Stockholm area and the archipelago, including Sandhamn. Works by Arthur Bianchini are represented at places such as the Nationalmuseum and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm.

His wife Lisa specialized in miniature painting and produced a number of portraits of famous personalities in watercolor on ivory. Her other art consists of small seascapes with sailboats and nude studies. Lisa Bianchini's works are held at the Östersunds museum and the Nationalmuseum. Lisa was also an author and wrote a book about Sandhamn and its inhabitants (“En bok om Sandhamn från förr och nu”, Stockholm: Fritzes bokf, 1924).

The couple's studio held open houses during regattas.
