Báb Ilbīra: 11th-century Arch over a Muslim Cemetery in Granada, Spain

Bab Ilbira, also known as Báb Ilbīra in Arabic, stands in Granada, Spain, as a historical relic from the 11th century. Originally built as part of the Zirid walls, it was subsequently rebuilt in the 14th century to form part of the Nasrid extension of the walls. A large Muslim cemetery, known as the Ibn Malik Cemetery, lies beneath the present-day Royal Hospital (Hospital Real), which stands over a part of this former cemetery.
