In the last few dreary years, New London's Post Hill District has been a construction site. Apartments for socially climbing residents pop up like weeds after a rainstorm. Yet, some of the aged residents are worried by the speed of changes and are flirting with a drastic decision. Among them is Nicole Robben, a third-generation denizen and a steadfast member of the Post Hill Preservation Society. The Society is seriously mulling over the idea of a historic district, which would tether developers with tighter rules and preserve the neighborhood's quirky appeal. But, deciding on a historic district isn't a piece of cake, and it'll take some grunt work to rally up enough backing from fellow residents and the city to give it the go-ahead.
