Olsborg Castle, a fortified castle located in Tanum Municipality, Bohuslän, Sweden, was built in 1502 by Nils Ravaldsson. Strategically placed on a steep cliff, the castle might have been an early hill fort previously. However, its destiny was intertwined with political power struggles. In May 1504, a one-year ceasefire was signed between the Swedish and Norwegian rebels and King Hans. However, most of Olsborg was destroyed shortly after (not during the Christmas party itself), when King Hans' forces attacked the castle during Christmas night in 1504.
