When the newly married couple August Strindberg and Harriet Bosse choose an apartment in 1901, they opt for a five-story building four stories up in a newly constructed building at Karlaplan. It becomes the residence where Strindberg lives the longest throughout his entire life, from May 1901 to July 1908. Here he writes pieces such as Black Flags. From 1903, Harriet Bosse rents a furniture-fitted apartment on Biblioteksgatan 30. The building was demolished in 1969 to make way for a new building, where director Ingmar Bergman moves in soon afterward.
