Set in the heart of Gothenburg, Sweden, Röhsska Museum boasts an extensive collection spanning design, fashion, and applied arts. Established in 1901 from the legacy of Wilhelm Röhss, it was designed by Carl Westman in the National Romantic style. The museum, completed in 1916, houses over 50,000 objects representing Swedish and European handicraft, Japanese and Chinese arts, as well as a substantial collection of 20th and 21st-century fashion. The museum's current focus is on acquiring contemporary materials while assiduously preserving historical pieces. Distinguished curators include the museum's first, Axel Nilsson, and Tom Hedqvist, who took the position in 2013.
