Serentill Pharmacy: A Time Capsule from 1920s Badalona

The Serentill Pharmacy, located in Badalona Province, Spain, is a local cultural site, which was founded at the end of the 19th century by Eduard Serentill i Tebé. The current exterior and interior, dating from 1924, are the result of the revamping by Joan Amigó i Barriga, a Badalonian modernist architect. The counter and access doors are made of caoba, while the armories consist of pine and mahogany. The collection of glass pots in the back is well-preserved.

The pharmacy was initially associated with Dr. Vergés, who had his practice in the Dalt de la Vila neighborhood of Badalona. Later, the pharmacy moved to more central streets in Badalona and settled at number 23 on the Carrer de Mar, where it remains today. With four generations of the same family at the helm, the business has expanded, focusing on parapharmaceuticals, dermoesthetics, and dietetics. Initially, the focus was on formulas still in use during the 19th century.
