The Defiant Pigeon and Daring Falcon on Stockholm's Stureplan: A Story of

Torsten Fridh placed the Defiant Dove and Daring Falcon sculpture in front of Daneliuska huset in 1990. The six-foot tall bronze sculpture stands tall on a high granite pedestal. The water cascades from the fountain integrated into the pedestal and surrounding it. Fridh was inspired by a newspaper report about a pigeon defending itself against a hawk. The sculpture shows a hawk attacking a pigeon, but the pigeon fights back with impressive determination. In the end, the hawk gives up and flies away.
