Couvent d'Oveglia

Cagnano, a small commune in the Haute-Corse department of France, is the home of the ruined Oveglia Convent. Built in the 15th century, the convent once thrived as a center for learning and spirituality. Today, the convent's crumbling stone walls still stand, a testament to its past, and the gardens, now overgrown and untended, form a secret haven hidden from the world. The convent's proximity to the sea is evident in its maritime ruisseau de Misinco, which runs through the valley and passes by the convent. The commune of Cagnano is part of the Capobianco canton in the Eastern part of the Cap Corse peninsula. The hamlet of L'Ortale, the center of Luri, is accessible via the D 132 and D 432 roads.
