Built between 1562 and 1575, Château des Ravalet is a testament to French Renaissance architecture. Originally a manor belonging to the royal domain, it changed hands several times before being remodeled in 1859 by the vicomte de Tocqueville. The château is close to the river Trottebec, about 1 kilometer south-south-east of the church Notre-Dame de Tourlaville. Its construction history spans over six centuries, as it was built on the site of an older structure, possibly a fortified manor from the 8th century.
