15th-Century Castle Enigma: Castillo de Castronuevo, Spain

The Castillo de Castronuevo in Rivilla de Barajas, Ávila, Castilla y León, Spain, dates back to the 15th century. Notable for its well-preserved subterranean vaults, the castle's history is shrouded in enigma. Despite the claim that it has been under the Alba family since 1489, there is no definitive proof. Its unique architecture includes three circular and two rectangular towers, a fortified wall with an artillery parapet, and a moat. The castle's conical turrets resemble those of La Mota castle. Yet, the roof remains in need of conservation.
