Castello di Brolio's New White Wine, Sanbarnaba

The iconic Castello di Brolio in Tuscany, known for its Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, has introduced a surprising new addition to its wine portfolio: a white wine made from 100% Trebbiano.

The Castello di Brolio Sanbarnaba, a newly released white wine, is a departure from the Sangiovese-dominated portfolio of the Chianti Classico producer. Established in 2003 on sandstone soils at an altitude of 1,540–1,575ft (470–480m), the Sanbarnaba vineyard was initially planted with Merlot but was grafted over to Trebbiano in 2018. Just 5,600 bottles of the wine were produced. Notably, the Castello di Brolio Sanbarnaba is priced on a par with the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, underscoring the estate's commitment to quality in this new venture.
