Brooklyn Green Historic District, spread over 1.75-acre (7,100 m2), rests peaceful in Brooklyn, CT. Once bustling in the 19th century, it retains its 1750-1850 architecture - a curious, time-warp treasure in an urban jungle. The district shields a host of vital town buildings: town hall, library, Trinity Episcopal and Federated Church of Christ, and 18th-century homes. These buildings stayed much unchanged since the 1800s, making it a significant window into Connecticut’s development patterns. The Historic American Buildings Survey photographed the Green's adjacent buildings, including those linked to historical figures like Israel Putnam (1718-1790) and Daniel Tyler, Jr. (ca. 1700-1800).
