Brompton Cemetery, situated in West Brompton in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, is one of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries. Established by Act of Parliament and laid out in 1839, it opened in 1840. This Grade I listed cemetery is one of Britain's oldest and most distinguished garden cemeteries, with over 205,000 resting places and more than 35,000 monuments. Despite its dark history, Brompton Cemetery offers a unique glimpse into the past and serves as a testimony to the city's historical dealings with death and the interred.
