La Tour Gloriette, located in Arbois, Jura, is an ancient tower of fortification that dates back to the 13th, 16th, and 17th centuries. Inscribed as a historic monument since 1927, this 17-meter tall square tower offers a glimpse into the town's medieval past. From 1655, Tour Gloriette housed a company of arquebusiers and was part of the city’s defenses. In March 1674, it was part of the city’s defenses during the siege of Arbois. After being severely damaged by a flood in 1503, the Gloriette was rebuilt and sold to the city by Jehan Daguet in 1598. It is located at 1 rue de la Tour (gloriette) in Arbois. Today, the tower has been restored by the municipality and converted into an artist's atelier and art exhibition space.
