Ållonö Castle, situated on the southern side of Bråviken, is a testament to grandeur and history. Constructed around 1670 by Riksrådet friherre Gustaf Kurck, the castle features the essence of baroque architecture, thanks to the designs of renowned architect Nicodemus Tessin den äldre. Between 30,000 Dutch light yellow bricks and Dutch glazed roof tiles called 'hollenes moppen' were used for the facade, with the latter arriving at the construction site in 1671.
Research indicates that the cellar vaults of the main building may have originated from a farm built by Göran Holgersson in 1584, though this origin is still uncertain. The castle has been owned by several families such as the Griphудоv, Gera, Kurck, Lilliehöök, Oxenstierna, Hamilton, Sperling, Ekeblad, von Yhlen, Du Rietz and Flach. It has never faced reduction, but it has decreased in size over time due to various transactions with the crown.
