The Madrid-Burgos line at Campo de San Pedro

The railway station in Campo de San Pedro, part of the Madrid-Burgos direct line, remains a point of interest along the route between Boceguillas and Maderuelo-Linares.

Campo de San Pedro is a railway station located in the Spanish municipality of Campo de San Pedro, in the province of Segovia. It belongs to the Madrid-Burgos direct line, a railway of Iberian gauge. The station is situated at kilometer 149.4 and lies between the stations of Boceguillas and Maderuelo-Linares. The section is a single track and is not electrified.

The railway facilities of Campo de San Pedro are part of the Madrid-Burgos direct railway. This line was inaugurated in July 1968, following construction works that lasted several decades. At the time of its inauguration, the layout was part of the RENFE network. The objective of the railway was to reduce travel time between Madrid and the French border, but by the 1990s, the line was in a state of decline and most stations were closed to passenger services.

Since January 2005, with the dissolution of the old RENFE, Adif became the owner of the railway facilities. Today, the station lacks passenger service. This halt in railway traffic on this section followed the collapse of the Somosierra tunnel in 2011.
