Ströms Slott: Two Centuries of Evolution

Ströms Slott, situated in the Lilla Edet Municipality of Bohuslän, Sweden, was initially built between 1685 and 1691. Although the identity of the original owner remains a mystery, the property was later acquired by Asmus Heinrich Evers, a merchant from Lübeck, Germany, in the 1840s. The manor house was demolished or burnt down in the following decade, and a new structure, designed by architect Edvard Medén, was built on the site in 1852. In the 1980s, it became a conference and restaurant facility. After a bankruptcy in 1990, it underwent renovation and now operates as a preschool and daycare center, Ströms slott förskola.
