Rönninge By, a 17th-century demonstration farm, offers visitors a glimpse into rural life four centuries ago. Located in Taby commune near Rönningesjön, this hamlet is home to livestock such as cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, and rabbits. It features a coffee shop, a rest stop, and a folk museum. The hamlet, originally a holding from nearby large estates dating back to the younger Iron Age, was owned by Rydboholms slott from 1704 to 1930 before being acquired by Täby municipality, which initially planned to build a small housing development.
Due to protests, the plans were abandoned, and the town was instead restored, focusing on recreating the farm’s 17th-century atmosphere. The area hosts various events, including Music School’s Day, Midsummer celebration, the big village festival, and a Christmas market. Several exercise trails with informational signs about the area’s cultural history and nature can be found in the Rönninge by - Skavlöten nature reserve. Swimming spots are nearby Rönningesjön.
