A Tale of Egypt: A Nation's Rebirth: The June Revolution

Once upon a time, in the heart of the land of pharaohs, a fairy-tale of rebellion commenced, the June Revolution. It was a cascade of popular uprisings, starting from 2011, demanding the immediate step-down of President Mohamed Morsi.

The revolution was inspired by whispers, often heard in the bustling marketplaces more so than in the whispers of the wind, called Tamarod. This grassroots movement started in April 2013, launching a petition gathering a million stories, or more accurately, 22 million signatures, by the 30th of June. Yet, independent sources chose not to verify this dramatic number, maintaining an enigmatic silence. In silent opposition, a counter-campaign, Tagarod Impartiality, also emerged, claiming to have collected signatures in support of Morsi's presidency, but again, the truth remained shrouded, unverified in the eyes of observers.
