Beneath the Ancient Walls of Motilla del Azuer: The Mystery of the Hidden Water

Motilla del Azuer, a Bronze Age fortified settlement, is located in the municipality of Daimiel, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. Uncovered during archaeological investigations in 1974, Motilla del Azuer's walls, standing between four and ten meters high, enclose a well that reaches a depth of at least sixteen meters. This well, hidden beneath the site's walls, is a mystery yet to be fully unraveled. The site also contains large-scale cereal storage and processing, livestock housing, and production of ceramics and other handicrafts. Today, the archaeological dig at Motilla del Azuer continues.
