The Renovated Ciudad Real Museum: Journey Through History

The renovated Museo de Ciudad Real in Spain is a unique blend of past and present, housing both a paleontology and an archaeology museum. The building opened to the public on 15 March 1982 and was closed for renovations in 2007. After reopening on 27 September 2013, the archaeological section exhibits an important set of Paleolithic items, primarily from private collections. The Chalcolithic and Bronze Age items include bell beaker pottery and stone arrowheads. Bronze Age warrior stelae discovered in the province of Ciudad Real are also part of the collection. The museum's landmark item is a reconstruction of an Anancus skeleton found in Las Higueruelas.
