Built by The Privy Council of Denmark in the 1480s, Ängsö Castle now stands on the island of Ångsö in Lake Mälaren. With stones and bricks adorning its walls, the castle echoes with histories of travels between the Riseberga Abbey, the Sparre family, Denmark, Sweden, and serving as a royal residence for King Gustav Vasa in the 16th century.
