The ruins of the Medina Rosales castle over the River Jerea

Cadiñanos is a small village in the Burgos region of Spain, dating back to the 10th century. Situated on the River Jerea, where a small dam has been built, the village belongs to the municipality of Trespaderne. The main monuments in Cadiñanos are a Romanesque church (Iglesia San Pelayo) and a medieval castle (Casa Solariega Las Torres) belonging to the Medina Rosales family of artistic interest. Today, the castle only maintains in place two of the four towers it once had. The Catholic church in Cadiñanos is dependent on the Parish of Pedrosa in the Archpriestcy of Medina de Pomar of the Archdiocese of Burgos. The Cadiñanos festivals are celebrated on the last weekend of July, organized by the Cadiñanos Festival Committee, a non-profit organization with no public aid.
