Nestled within the heart of the Spanish village of Valdenoceda, in the province of Burgos, sits the robust and enigmatic Torre de Valdenoceda, also known as de los Fernández Velasco. This remarkable historical structure, dating back to the 12th-13th century, is administered by the Spanish State and has been honored as a 'bien de interés cultural' since 1985. The fortress's sturdy rectangular design, with its thick walls, harks back to the era of Gothic architecture. Adorned with intricate niches and arrow slits, it invites exploration into the past. Abandoned during the 16th century, yet remaining bearing the family's coat of arms, its protected area was defined in 2013.
