The Slagstaristning, Stockholm County's largest, is an archaeological site in Slagsta, Botkyrka kommun, discovered during road construction for Botkyrkaleden in 1971. Slagstaristning is an archaeological site that consists of 18 ships, 3 animal figures, 210 cup markings, 1 polished surface, 9 fragments, 5 grooves, and 2 human figures. One of the human figures has distinctly shaped bones with a strong waist, under which lies a shallow carved ship image.
The total area carved is 4.8 x 3.3 meters. Slagstaristning is the largest in Stockholms County and is from the Bronze Age. It was discovered during road construction, but was initially fully overgrown and unknown. Archeological investigations were underway near the road construction, and one of the archeologists, Rudolf Hansson, was intrigued by the stone. It is believed that this place had a ritual-magical significance where people directed themselves towards a higher power. However, the purpose of this site during the Bronze Age is unclear.
