The Pagan Sanctuary on Naujosios Rėvos Hillfort

Naujosios Rėva Hillfort, located in the Neris Regional Park, is an archaeological site in Vilnius, Lithuania. The hillfort, also known locally as 'Ruskij Kostiol' or 'Popu (Popy)', spans two valleys, with the Neris river on the left and two tributaries on the right and back. The hillfort's peak rises approximately 6 meters higher than the surrounding terrain and valley floors. Archeologists have found evidence of an ancient settlement on the hillfort's plateau, near the Neris river.

The hillfort is dated to the second century AD. The hillfort was declared a cultural monument in 1998. It is said that people saw processions and indulged in strange rituals at the hill in the past. The hillfort may have been a pagan sanctuary (white shrine). The Neris Regional Park administration manages the hillfort. Protective barriers, information piles, path markers, an information board, and a parking area 300 meters from the hillfort have been established to preserve the site.
