The Romanesque Church Hidden Near L'Infern

The church of Sant Andreu del Pujol del Racó is hidden in the hills of La Coma i la Pedra, located in the Solsonès comarca. While the exact construction date is unclear, records show it existed as early as 1050, owned by the monastery of Sant Llorenç de Morunys. It is a protected monument, inventoried within the Patrimoni Arquitectònic Català. To reach the church, follow the path exiting from km 4.6 of the LV-4012 road (from Sant Llorenç de Morunys to Tuixén).

The road is vehicle-free, so you’ll have to walk. The path ascends steeply, and after approximately 2.3 kilometers, take the left path that, after 400 meters and crossing the Ribereta, will lead you to the church. Sant Andreu del Pujol del Racó is a single-nave Romanesque church with two arcosolii on the north wall and a small niche to place the image of the church’s patron saint at the apse. The entrance door is on the west wall, and the windows with double scroll are also on the west wall, right at the apse and to the west. The church is known antiquely as Sant Andreu de Mosoll (the name of the nearby river near the church).
