The crumbling Palagret Castle and ancient Roman pathway in Celrà's hills

The Castell de Palagret, perched on a small hill in the valley of Palagret, is a testament to the medieval era. Its remnants show a rectangular construction with pre-Roman origins, dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. Despite being abandoned, the castle's northern sector remains relatively well-preserved, with walls that reach approximately 4 meters in height. The stone walls of the castle are built from blocs of slate and a fragile lime mortar, adding to their unstable condition.
