The parish of San Francisco de Asís is a Catholic place of worship and parish headquarters in the city of Santa Cruz de La Palma. Originally a Franciscan convent, the temple is considered the second most important parish in the city, following the Parroquia Matriz de El Salvador.
Constructed after the conquest of the island of La Palma, the building served as the Real Convento de la Inmaculada Concepción. Following the disamortizations of the 19th century and various reforms, the temple became a parish. It is a Renaissance-style church that today houses the Museo Insular Convento de San Francisco, which displays artworks such as a 16th-century Flemish sculptural group of Santa Ana.
The temple contains the image of the Señor de la Piedra Fría, which is venerated as the Señor de La Palma and is the most revered image of the city. Other important images in the temple include the Inmaculada Concepción, a 16th-century Flemish work, and San Francisco de Asís, a 17th-century Sevillian work.
The building also contains the 1565 structure for the Señor de la Piedra Fría, which features an octagonal dome and a roof over a square plan. This historic site is recognized as a Bien de Interés Cultural.
