The military shrine of Pocol, also known as Ossario di Pocol, is near Falzarego Pass, in the locality of Pocol, Cortina d’Ampezzo. Constructed in the 1930s by the Italian military, it's a stone-towered structure hosting remains of 9,707 Italian soldiers (4,455 unknown) and 37 Austro-Hungarian soldiers. General Antonio Cantore, awarded the gold medal for military valor, lies buried in a crypt within the structure.
