The Column of the Duchess of Angoulême is located in Saint-Florent-le-Vieil, Maine-et-Loire, France. It was constructed in 1828 in the presence of the Duchess of Berry to commemorate the passage of Marie-Thérèse, the daughter of Louis XVI and the Duchess of Angoulême, through the town on July 27, 1823. The column stands at Mont Glonne in the gardens of the Abbaye de Saint-Florent-le-Vieil, overlooking the Loire. The column is 15 meters high and is made of stone and metal. Its summit has a crown topped with a lily (the crown of the French Dauphins). The base of the column is surrounded by a metal grille and has four slate plates engraved with commemoration of the visit of the Duchess of Angoulême.
