Chill with PDX's Stone Pal, the Seated Cat

Meet the Seated Cat, PDX's silent sidekick - a stoic stone feline, loungin' on the downtown Transit Mall, just waitin' to be your new homie

Back in 1978, a tranquil stone tyke named Seated Cat was crafted by Kathleen McCullough and placed on the Portland Transit Mall, right where Southwest Fifth Avenue meets Southwest Morrison Street. Owned by the Regional Arts & Culture Council and Multnomah County Public Art Collection, this cat-tastic sculpture has become a cherished part of the PDX Transit Mall, especially among the young adventurers who love their feline-inspired regalia. Standing tall at 36 x 53-inches (0.91 m × 1.35 m), this stone kitty has made quite the paw-print in the city of Portland, Oregon.
