Teatro Central was a patrocinated project for Sevilla's Expo '92 Universal, inaugurated on April 20, 1992. It was the final project with high expectations, erected on the grounds of the Isla de la Cartuja. Before its official opening, two concerts with limited capacity were held to test the installations. It operated from April to October 1992.
