The Museo dei Tarocchi is located in Riola, in the Bolognese Appennines, within a historic building dating from the 17th century. It is one of the few centers in Italy and the world that focuses on the art of the Tarocchi.
The museum holds numerous decks of Tarocchi and playing cards, both ancient and modern, as well as documented works by various Italian and international artists. Part of the collection is dedicated to artist Tarocchi, which are limited editions signed in the original by authors using techniques ranging from collage and sculpture to painting, graphics, video, and musical performances.
In addition to the permanent collection, the museum includes paintings dedicated to the theme of playing cards and the subjects of the major arcana. The museum also offers a series of cultural events and exhibitions organized both within the building and in other locations.
