A gargantuan, 23,000-pound statue of a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, created by Raymond Gibby and Bott Monument, was unveiled in Rapid City, South Dakota. It's McDonald's tribute to the iconic burger on its 50th anniversary.

On February 26, 2020, a 9-foot-tall, 23,000-pound sculpture of a Quarter Pounder with Cheese was erected in Rapid City, South Dakota, USA. McDonald's commissioned the grandiose work from Raymond Gibby of Bott Monument, Riverton, Wyoming, as a commemoration of the Quarter Pounder's 50th anniversary. The statue was placed in Rapid City, famous for its high concentration of Quarter Pounder with Cheese fans. The pedestal displays the phrase 'hot and deliciously juicy' in Latin script. The sesame seeds atop the sculpture are about 20 times larger than normal. Crafting the statue and pedestal required 1,800 hours. In honor of the unveiling, 500 free Quarter Pounders were given out.
